Introducing Amanda Cauley-Harvey, Family Nurse Practitioner
As a new provider at UNC Primary Care at Goldsboro, Family Nurse Practitioner Amanda Cauley-Harvey’s philosophy of care reflects a patient-centered approach. “Every aspect of health care and the services we provide relies on solid teamwork,” she said. “The most important partner on that team and the one whose preferences should always be considered first is the patient.”
Cauley-Harvey says that her encounters with patients involve treating the patient as an individual and involving the patient as much as possible in the planning of his or her care and in establishing health and wellness related goals.
Joining the team in September, Cauley-Harvey brings expertise in cardiovascular disease prevention and diabetes management. “In general, I am interested in rural health care,” she said. “Access to quality primary health care services in Eastern North Carolina is a growing need, and I am happy to be able to provide these services to individuals in the Goldsboro and surrounding rural areas.”
In addition to Cauley-Harvey’s commitment to providing access to quality primary care, the opportunity to positively affect the health and wellbeing of others is what drew her to healthcare and a career as a Family Nurse Practitioner. “While this process can be simple or complex, I get a lot of personal and professional satisfaction in working with individuals from all walks of life to help optimize their varying states of health and wellness,” she said.
When she isn’t treating patients, Cauley-Harvey’s favorite pastimes are being outdoors enjoying natural settings and sitting on the sidelines, watching her son play sports. Cauley-Harvey also enjoys traveling to the mountains and the beach a few times per year to take in all North Carolina has to offer.
