Give blood or donate your organs to save lives in our community through UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

Your Blood Donation Helps Patients

Every day blood donors help patients of all ages, including accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer, according to the American Red Cross. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.

When you donate blood in advance, patients can receive the blood as soon as they need it.

Why You Should Donate Organs

Choose to donate organs while you’re living or as a legacy after your death to improve the lives of others. If you donate your organs, eyes and tissue, you could save up to eight lives, according to Donate Life America.

Honoring Donors at UNC Health Wayne

In partnership with Carolina Donor Services, UNC Health Wayne recognizes organ donors who pass away at our hospital through the Donate Life Flag Program. We hold a special flag raising ceremony to celebrate the life and legacy of a patient who donated organs or tissue to help others. The Donate Life flag flies for 24 hours to alert community members and the hospital team of this important, life-saving gift.
