UNC Health Wayne Recognized for Excellence in Heart Care
UNC Health Wayne has been recognized for outstanding heart care in the 2025 The Heart of Quality Patient Care report by U.S. News & World Report and the American College of Cardiology (ACC). This honor highlights the hospital’s commitment to providing top-quality care for patients with heart conditions.
The hospital received recognition for its achievements in heart treatment programs, including the CathPCI Registry, the Chest Pain-MI Registry, and Chest Pain Accreditation. It also earned the prestigious Chest Pain-MI Registry Gold Honors, which is awarded to hospitals that follow the best practices in treating heart attacks and other heart-related emergencies.

The CathPCI Registry ensures that hospitals follow the best methods for performing heart procedures, while the Chest Pain-MI Registry tracks how hospitals care for heart attack patients. Chest Pain Accreditation is given to hospitals that meet high standards for fast and effective heart attack treatment.
