UNC Health Wayne Earns National Recognition for Excellence in Heart Attack Care

UNC Health Wayne has once again received national recognition for its outstanding cardiac care, earning the 2025 Platinum Performance Achievement Award from the American College of Cardiology’s Chest Pain—MI Registry. This award places UNC Health Wayne among only 323 hospitals nationwide recognized for delivering top-tier, guideline-driven care to heart attack patients.

This marks the fourth consecutive year UNC Health Wayne has been recognized for having consistently met the rigorous performance standards required since 2022. The Platinum Performance Achievement Award is the highest level of recognition from the Chest Pain—MI Registry and reflects a hospital’s sustained success in following the latest clinical guidelines from both the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the American Heart Association (AHA).
