UNC Health Wayne’s Mobile Medicaid Outreach Program Featured on NCHA

We are proud to announce that UNC Health Wayne’s Mobile Medicaid Outreach program has been featured by the North Carolina Healthcare Association (NCHA)! This recognition highlights our commitment to supporting our community by providing essential financial assistance and Medicaid enrollment information directly to patients in their homes.

Our innovative program, led by Tonya Reaves, UNC Health Wayne's Admitting Manager, focuses on easing the burden of medical bills for uninsured patients. By offering home visits from financial counselors, we ensure that patients understand their options for Medicaid coverage, charity care, and other financial assistance programs. This personalized approach has been crucial in helping patients navigate their healthcare needs without the added stress of financial uncertainty.

Since its inception in 2022, the Medicaid Enrollment Assistance program has made significant strides in reaching out to the community, especially with the aid of Bilingual specialists who are able to connect with Spanish and Creole-speaking patients. We are excited to see this program grow and continue to meet the needs of our patients.
