UNC Health Wayne Raises Donate Life Flag to Honor Organ Donation
In partnership with Honor Bridge, UNC Health Wayne participated in a heartfelt Donate Life Flag Raising Ceremony. This event, held to commemorate April as National Donate Life Month, was a poignant reminder of the profound impact of organ donation on countless lives.
The flag, raised promptly at 10:08, symbolized the generosity of donors, the hope of recipients, and the unity of our community in supporting this vital cause. With over 3,000 patients in North Carolina awaiting lifesaving transplants, the ceremony was a solemn reminder of the urgent need for organ donors and the transformative power of one donor's generosity, which can save up to eight lives.
We extend our deepest appreciation to the over 5 million North Carolinians who have selflessly registered as organ, eye, and tissue donors. Their willingness to give the gift of life exemplifies the spirit of compassion and solidarity that defines our state.
Throughout the month of April, UNC Health Wayne is proud to dedicate our efforts to promoting the registration of organ donors. Together, we can make a difference by giving the gift of life and hope to those in need.
