UNC Health Wayne Celebrates Three Teammates Named Among the Great 100 Nurses of North Carolina
UNC Health Wayne is proud to announce that three of our exceptional nurses have been named among the Great 100 Nurses in North Carolina for 2024: Amanda Ramsey, RN, BSN, NCSN; Carrie Stokes, RN, BSN; and Dr. Jennifer Sugg, EdD, MSN, RN, CCRN, CNE. This prestigious recognition highlights their dedication, skill, and compassionate care, which have made a profound impact on our community.
Ramsey has brought her expertise to pediatrics, maternity, labor and delivery, and most recently, school health. A graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Ramsey became a National Board-Certified School Nurse in 2019 and continues to maintain that certification. Her commitment to excellence in nursing was also recognized earlier this year when she received the Nurse Excellence 2023 Award.
Joining the UNC Health Wayne team in 2016, Stokes began her career in Med-Surg before focusing her skills on Stroke and Chest Pain Coordination. Stokes has been instrumental in UNC Health Wayne obtaining certification as a Primary Stroke Center and her commitment to patient care has earned her the Heart of Carolina Care award in 2020 and the Nurse Excellence Award in 2023.
With over 25 years of service to UNC Health Wayne, Sugg has shared her talents across various areas, including critical care, cardiovascular care, and most recently organizational learning. As a nurse educator and clinical administrator, Sugg has made a lasting impact on the development of nursing professionals both within UNC Health Wayne and in the broader educational community.
